The most complete introduction to South Vietnam in a single day. Spend the morning on a guided city tour of Ho Chi Minh City visiting the Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office and the War Remnants Museum. After lunch, drive to Cu Chi for an afternoon underground — exploring the tunnels, bomb craters, mantraps and wartime facilities used by Viet Cong fighters during the Vietnam War.

Independence Palace (Reunification Palace)

Visit the former seat of the South Vietnamese government, built on the site of the original Norodom Palace and designed by architect Ngo Viet Thu. Explore the state rooms, war command center in the basement and rooftop helipad — preserved exactly as it was on the day of reunification in 1975.

Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office

See the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, built entirely from materials imported from France in the 1880s. Right beside it, the Central Post Office is one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in Southeast Asia, designed by Gustave Eiffel.

War Remnants Museum

An essential and deeply moving visit. The museum documents both the Indochina War and the Vietnam War through an extensive collection of photographs, military equipment, and testimonies. One of the most visited museums in Southeast Asia.

Lunch break at a local restaurant before heading northwest to Cu Chi.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Approximately 1.5 hours drive to Cu Chi. Watch the introductory wartime film then spend over an hour exploring the tunnel complex — bomb craters from B52 bombers, mantraps, the remains of an American tank, the underground weapon factory and the special kitchen. Crawl through a section of the original 121 km tunnel network. Cassava and tea served on site. Optional gun shooting at the range at extra cost.
